Conditions

We can treat many of the conditions below and more …

Headaches

Instead of treating just the pain of headaches which is a symptom; we treat the origin or cause of the headaches & migraines. A common cause of headaches is poor posture or muscle tension around the neck area. By treating the spine, pressure can be taken off the muscles and nerves in that area and reduce down tension.

Neck Pain or Stiffness

Having neck pain is a common issue, especially in people who work at a desk. Prolonged work with your head looking down can build tension and imbalance within the neck. We need a variety of movements daily to keep the spine moving freely.

Mid/upper back pain

Mid/upper back pain can occur solely due to overuse, injuries from repetitive motions, or lack of motion in sedentary lifestyles. It can also be a secondary area for people with neck pain and lower back pain. Ever noticed how your mid back feels stiff after exercise when you haven’t performed any exercise for a while; this is your spine, ribs and intercostal muscles moving again.

Shoulder pain & Frozen Shoulder

Shoulder pain and Frozen shoulder can cause a limitation in the motion of the shoulder joint. Pressure needs to taken off not just the shoulder but also the surrounding areas of neck, back and elbow. The muscles need to be stretched and strengthened to allow the joint to function to its full potential.

Lower back pain

Lower back pain is very common and can be caused by multiple factors. The lower back is very important to look after as it takes the load of the body and is the most common area for discal injuries commonly known as slipped disc. Poor lifting technique and a weak core is the number one reason for lower back pain.

Hip pain

Hip pain can be caused by a number of factors including muscle imbalance, arthritis, problems arising higher up such as lower back pain and problems lower down such as knee and ankle complaints. Hip pain will never be looked at solely by your chiropractor, the whole body will be checked.

Elbow & Wrist sprain/strain injuries

Golfers elbow, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel are just a few of the conditions affecting these areas. Overuse and muscle imbalance have a major role in these joints.

Knee & Ankle sprain/strain injuries

This is a very common area to get pain, especially in the elderly and sports players. Even neck pain can change your gait and lead to problems right down to your toes.

Arthritic pain

Osteoarthritis is caused by overuse of the joints and faulty biomechanics. Joints need to maintain their motion and keep mobile. Remember to talk to your chiropractor about daily exercises to keep your pain levels down.

Pregnancy related back pain

The body undergoes a lot of changes during pregnancy including change in posture and the release of a hormone which makes the joints become loose. Your centre of gravity will come forward in pregnancy and cause a shift in the joints of the lower back.
